- Mayor Eric Adams announced a plan on Monday that will create hundreds of fashion industry sustainable jobs in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The nonprofit, Slow Factory, will be the first tenant in the "Made in NY" garment hub which is expected to be completed by end of this year at Sunset Park's Bush Terminal. (Brooklyn Daily Eagle)
- New York City Mayor Eric Adams appointed Joel Eisdorfer, a Hassidic (ultra-Orthodox) Jew and political activist, to serve as his senior advisor. A member of the mayor's administration confirmed the appointment to The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday evening. Eisdorfer is the mayor's first Hassidic Jewish senior advisor and the first Hassidic Jew to be appointed to the position of advisor to City Hall. (The Jerusalem Post)
- Leasing has started for the new Magnolia DUMBO development at 85 Jay St. in Brooklyn. The two 21-story towers will yield over 700 residential units in total. Notable amenities include and outdoor, rooftop swimming pool and a 77,000-square-foot Lifetime Fitness flagship space. (New York YIMBY)
- A New York Jewish progressive group is backing Democrats Brittany Ramos DeBarros, a former army officer, for the 11th Congressional District, and Rana Abdelhamid, a community organizer, for the 12th, the group told the Forward. Both candidates are also members of Democratic Socialists of America. "The Jewish Vote, formed in 2018 by leaders of Jews For Racial & Economic Justice (JFREJ), has already endorsed two New York incumbents, Democrats Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jamaal Bowman," reported Forward.
