(Sunset Park Daily)

Here are the top stories in Sunset Park today:

  1. Weapons-detection systems from Evolv Technology may be coming to a subway near you. Mayor Eric Adams is a fan of unique crime-fighting technology and is trying to combat the rise in gun violence that has not spared the city's subways. Aside from the Sunset Park attack, others have been shot inside the transit system in the last two months, one of whom died. (Patch)
  2. Brooklyn is back on "high alert" for the spread of COVID-19 as cases continue to rise. City officials are strongly urging residents across New York City to wear masks, but have not indicated them to be a requirement again. Mayor Eric Adams said that he had no intentions of reinstating a mask mandate. (Brooklyn Paper)
  3. Entertainment abound as you enjoy free concerts, live music, family-friendly hands-on workshops, and so much more. View, with delight, the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy and Brooklyn Bridge Park 2022 Programming Calendar. (City Life Org)
  4. Nancy A. Ruhling from the Brick Underground classifies Sunset Park as "up and coming" since most buyers and renters are priced out of other parts of the city. Sunset Park is described as a quiet, low-profile area that’s home to large, well-established Hispanic and Asian immigrant populations. If you are interested in purchasing or renting, keep in mind that listings are limited. (Brick Underground)
