Sunset Park Seniors: Become a Smartphone Whiz at Local Workshop
A Friday class in the neighborhood is designed for you.

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — A non-profit is offering a technology class this Friday designed to teach seniors how to more easily use their cell phones. The program will be run by MAZii.org, which aims to facilitate "intergenerational communication" by teaching young people how to introduce technology to senior citizens.
The organization, founded in 2007, says it turns 16-24 year-olds into technology educators, then connects them with older individuals who need digital literacy training. The group also runs a variety of tech-related programming, including a digital autobiography project where seniors can make short movies about their lives.
MAZii conducts multi-week classes, but it also hosts one-day "pop-up" sessions, like the one taking place on Friday. That class will run from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will take place at the Turning Point Ed Center, located at 423 39th St.
