Complaints Of Squatters At Woodbury Home Where Man Barricaded: Report

WOODBURY, NY — Police dealt with several domestic calls at Woodbury home where a man barricaded himself this week, Commissioner Patrick Ryder said, according to News 12 Long Island.

Adrees Omar, 25, refused to leave the home and would not allow officers inside during the hourslong ordeal, authorities said.

Town inspectors arrived on Tuesday morning to deliver a violation notice when a naked 14-year-old girl was seen running from the house, CBS2 reported.

According to News 12, the town was investigating complaints possible squatters.

The girl suffered cuts and was treated at a hospital, authorities said.

Nassau police, through a joint investigation with the Special Victims Squad and the local precinct, said Omar engaged in "ongoing sexual relations" with a 14-year-old girl.

Omar barricaded himself in the home for more than eight hours, CBS2 said.

He was arraigned at his hospital bedside, charged with rape, obstructing breathing and unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

He was also charged with two counts of criminal contempt, police said.

Omar pleaded not guilty, Omar's attorney told CBS2.
