Jericho School District and Canon U.S.A., Inc. Collaborate On The Release Of Original Book
34 people participated in this year's program– 23 students and 11 teachers– to become published authors.

JERICHO, NY — Jericho High School and Canon U.S.A., Inc. joined together to celebrate the 2025 Future Authors Project and the release of the original book, 'Inkstrumental.'
The Future Authors Project is a collaborative writing workshop supported by Canon U.S.A., Inc., and the Jericho School District has participated in the program since 2017. The program teaches the fundamentals of photography, writing processes, and editing and publication.
This year's edition was inspired by the connection between music and memory– how songs can bring people together.

34 participants contributed to the book and became published authors– 23 students and 11 teachers. Canon provided Rebel SL2 cameras to students so they could create images to go with their written portion of the book. The book was printed and bound by Suffolk Printing using Canon's technology.
Executive Vice President and Client Services Group President of Canon U.S.A., Inc. Peter P. Kowalczuk said there was such creativity and authenticity displayed in the book, which exemplifies the purpose of the program.

“Canon is proud to continue supporting the Future Authors Project to help empower students to bring their stories to life through both words and images,” he said.
Curriculum Associate for English Language Arts of Jericho School District Dr. Daniel Salzman said he is thankful students get to experience this program.
“This unique experience empowers our students, and I am grateful to the team at Canon U.S.A., Inc. for their continued partnership in making this program possible," he said. "The Future Authors Project encourages young writers to explore their creativity, develop their voice, and engage with new technologies that bring their work to life. It’s inspiring to see the pride our students take in seeing their names in print, and we thank Canon for helping make that possible year after year.”
