Fire Spreads At Mercy First's Syosset Location Over The Weekend: PD

SYOSSET, NY — There was a fire at Mercy First, a residential foster care facility in Syosset, on Sunday afternoon, police said.

Flames were seen coming from a classroom on the second floor of the Convent Road building, police said.

The Syosset Fire Department along with the assistance from the Hicksville Fire Department, and other departments, extinguished the blaze.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad were also at the fire. It was not deemed suspicious said. No injuries were reported.
