Garden City Shooting Suspect Had Syosset Connection

Sang Ho Kim knew cops wouldn't find him alive.

Kim's sister, who did not want to be named, lives in Syosset and toldThe New York Times that Kim expressed no remorse after allegedly shooting two business associates in Garden City Sept. 25, one of whom died. He simply told her what to do with his body should he be found dead.

Recounting Kim's words, his sister told the Times:

“If I die, don’t put me in the land. Cremate me and put me in my mother’s dying place.”

After a five day manhunt, Kim's body was likely found early Monday morning in the Hudson River. Police said it appeared to have been in the water for several days, according to Newsday. 

Police say Kim went on a shooting rampage because he was angry over a business deal gone bad. Kim's sister told The Times that he believed the men were trying to avoid paying him by deleting files from his computer at work.

Zachariah Yong Jae Shin, 25, of Whitestone, Queens was fatally shot in the ordeal, while John Hyng Choi was seriously injured. Kim’s getaway car, a white Honda Pilot, was located late Wednesday in the Philipstown area of western Putnam County. 

Police have not yet determined Kim's cause of death.
