HorseAbility Annual Gala Set for Oct. 25

Donations go to a wide range of programs for children with special needs.

HorseAbility's annual gala is scheduled for Oct. 25 at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury and tickets are on sale now.

Tickets for this year's event, entitled “Honoring the Past…Building Our Future,”  can be purchased online at www.HorseAbility.org. Organizers say sponsorship and advertising opportunities are available, and donations for auction items are appreciated.

HorseAbility was founded in 1993 by Kathleen (Katie) McGowan who witnessed a child with cerebral palsy benefit physically, and emotionally through the therapeutic use of her horse. HorseAbility is the only full year Premier Accredited Center on Long Island.

The night will consist of awards, cocktails, dinner and dancing featuring a silent and live auction, raffle prizes and casino games. HorseAbility will honor four community members as “Champions of Service.”

All proceeds from the gala will help HorseAbility to offer a wide range of Equine Facilitated Programs for children, adults, and families with special needs to promote the physical, psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of its participants.
