Man Driving Stolen Car Fled From Officers: Nassau PD

Police say the man fled the stolen car on foot, but was found a short time later and arrested.

SYOSSET, NY — A Nassau man was arrested after police say he fled from officers when he was found driving a stolen car.

According to police, officers responded to a 911 call for a suspicious vehicle at 9:52 a.m. on South Oyster Bay Road in Syosset. When they arrived, police say they saw Henry Eason, of Hempstead, flee the car on foot.

Eason was found a short time later and arrested without incident. Police say the officers determined the car was stolen.

Eason is charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property and second-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle. He is scheduled to be arraigned later today in First District Court in Hempstead.
