Overnight Tractor Trailer Crash On LIE Sends 3 To Hospital: Police
A construction zone was getting set up when his vehicle got struck, police said.

JERICHO, NY — Three people, including a police officer, were injured during an overnight tractor-trailer crash on the Long Island Expressway, authorities said.
The 2016 Volvo truck was heading eastbound at 1:25 a.m. on Tuesday when it struck a 2005 Isuzu in the vicinity of Exit 40E, police said.
The driver of the Isuzu, 55, was establishing a construction zone at the time of the crash, police said. The collision damaged the passenger side of the Volvo, causing the female passenger, 35, to become trapped, police said.

Nassau County Police Department's Emergency Services Unit extracted the woman from the truck. She suffered a minor leg injury and was brought to an area hospital, police said.
The Isuzu driver suffered neck pain and was also taken to an area hospital for treatment.

While removing the passenger, an officer suffered a contusion to his head and went to a hospital for evaluation and treatment, police said.
Police are investigating.
