Cops ID Pedestrian Fatally Struck On LIE Service Road
The 33-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene on Wednesday night, police say.
Updated Tuesday at noon: Authorities have identified the man who was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing the Long Island Expressway South Service Road on the night of Wednesday, June 13 in Jericho.
According to authorities, Johnathan Ferro, 32, of Roosevelt, was attempting to cross the service road, west of Jericho Turnpike, when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound at 9:11 p.m.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are withholding his name at this time.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. The vehicle was impounded for a break and safety check.
The crash is under investigation by Homicide Squad detectives.
