
Earlier this winter, Robbins Lane Elementary School students, in the Syosset School District, performed an impressive variety of music at their winter concert.
As is the tradition, the musicians filled the H.B. Thompson Middle School auditorium with orchestra, band and choral selections.
Robbins Lane Elementary music teacher Jeanette Velsmid and her Orchestra led the audience in The Star-Spangled Banner, and then played the rhythmic Knick Knock, Super String Samba, based on “Blame it on the Bossa Nova,” and the heartwarming Over the Rainbow.

Conductor Jeff Biener and his Concert Band played the exciting Dragon Slayer, Northridge Overture, and the hilarious Waltz for Band and Water Glasses.
Robbins Lane Elementary music teacher Dr. Catherine da Silva and her Chorus sang the joy-filled Happiness from ‘You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,’ and then performed Don’t Worry Be Happy, and the 2014 Song of the Year, Happy, both with two-tone gloves and full choreography.
