[UPDATE] Voters Approve Syosset Budget, Elect Trustees
Residents headed to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school budget and elect board members.

Syosset residents approved a 2018-19 school budget on Tuesday.
The $230,346,020 budget passed with 1,642 yes votes and 591 no votes, according to the school district. The budget is a 2.97 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 2.26 percent tax levy increase.
"With this support, the District will continue to provide a full academic and co-curricular program and provide programmatic enhancements in the area of technology, while also addressing areas of our school infrastructure and providing further security enhancements," the district said in a statement.

Board of Education election results:
Residents re-elected Andy Feldman and Christopher Di Flippo. Chris Ulrich was also elected.
These results were officially made after an affidavit ballot was prematurely opened and incorrectly tallied on Tuesday evening. "The ballot was one of the 6 declared invalid this morning," according to the district. "The vote total was corrected accordingly, resulting in one less vote for Ms. [Wendy] Levitt."
