Teen Dies From Injuries After Hit By Car Riding Bike In Nassau

SYOSSET, NY — A 16-year-old bicyclist who was struck by a car in January has died from his injuries, Nassau County police announced.

Benjamin Daggett, of Syosset, was riding his bicycle on Jan. 15 at 10:46 a.m., traveling northbound on South Oyster Bay Road when he was struck by a 2017 Nissan, police said.

The Nissan was traveling southbound while turning east onto the Long Island Expressway Service Road.

Daggett suffered severe head trauma and was taken to a local hospital.

He was pronounced dead from his injuries on Wednesday, police said.
