JERICHO, NY — Mets sensational first basemen Pete Alonso, fresh off breaking the MLB rookie record for home runs, took time this offseason to pop into a Jericho math class as the new coronavirus grinds life to a halt, both on and off the field. Video obtained by News12 Long Island showed Alonso videoconference into Jericho High School teacher Greg Berry's geometry class recently.

As Patch previously reported, the new coronavirus has spread across the country and Long Island has become the latest hot spot. Nassau County has more cases than almost anywhere else in the state.
