Applications Being Accepted For New Tarrytown Affordable Housing

To qualify, at least one member of the household must be 55 years of age or older.

TARRYTOWN, NY — Applications are now being accepted for the new affordable rental units at 62 Main St. in Tarrytown.

The former YMCA location was turned into 100 studio and one-bedroom units.

At least 80 percent of the units must have at least one member of the household who is 55 years of age or older, officials said.

Your household must meet income and occupancy limits.

The rent will include heat, hot water and electricity including cooking.

Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. Oct. 24.

There will be a lottery via Zoom at 11 a.m. Nov. 7 to determine the order in which applications will be reviewed for tenancy.

Six of the units are adapted for mobility impairment and three are adapted for hearing/vision impairment.

Amenities include a rooftop courtyard, community room, fitness center, computer area and on-site laundry facility. The location is in Tarrytown’s historic downtown and is near public transit and shopping.

There are no application or broker fees.
