Yes

What does the nominee do for work?

Park Manager at The Rockefeller State Park Preserve

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?

Throughout the pandemic, the State Parks have remained open with limited access. Managing the Preserve through the huge increase in visitors, while maintaining a safe environment for all visitors, staff and, of course, the Preserve's residents has been a monumental task. Rarely taking a day off, Peter leads his small staff by inspiration, and no job is beneath him — from managing parking and gate openings/closings to crowd control, visitor conflict resolution, signage and cleanup (including bathrooms when necessary), Peter has kept the Preserve open and a refuge to many New Yorkers who have nowhere else to go but need get out of the house. Bravo to this unsung hero.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?

Peter is devoted to the Preserve's (and NYS Parks') mission.

Thank you for all that you do, Peter Iskenderian!
