Car Left Tireless in Carrollwood Complex

One unlucky Infiniti lost all its tires one night in the Carrollwood condominium complex.

On March 6 at 5:23 a.m., a caller reported to police that a car with RI plates, a 2012 gray Infiniti Suburban, had its four tires and wheels stolen while parked in front of High Cliff Lane.

Officers reported that the culprits placed large stones under the car to remove the tires and rims.

Attempts to contact the car’s owner were unsuccessful.

Police took photos (one shown here) and filed a case for grand larceny, as the value of the tires exceeds $1,000.

Later that morning, a Carrollwood management office employee had downloaded a security file containing video footage of cars entering the complex the night prior and turned the footage over to the police detective division.

The case is still under investigation, said Lt. William Herguth, noting that Tarrytown police have seen this scenario countless times. In the last six months, he estimated they’ve had reports of four similar incidents. The criminals, working overnight, jack up the car and leave it on cinderblocks, paintcans, rocks, or whatever they can find lying around, and then resell all four rims and tires.
