DA Drops Endangerment Charges Against Hudson Valley Music Teacher
Stanley Indig, 68, was hired to give private, in-house music lessons to a Greenburgh resident's children.
GREENBURGH, NY — A Putnam County music teacher accused of child endangerment has had charges dropped.
The Westchester County District Attorney's Office told Patch that the case against Stanley Indig, 68, was dismissed.
"In consultation with the witnesses in this case, we determined that dismissal was the more appropriate outcome than proceeding to trial," said a spokesperson for the DA's office.

In August 2021, Indig was arrested by the Greenburgh Police Department and charged with two counts of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
Police, at the time, said its special victims unit was contacted in July 2021 by a town resident who had hired Indig to give in-home, private music lessons to his daughters.

Indig was accused of having the children wear and pose in a woman's high-heel shoes and recording the activity with his cell phone, police said.
Efforts to reach Indig for comment were not immediately successful.
His attorney, Richard Ferrante, told News 12 that he agreed with the charges being dismissed and said the prosecution that endangerment of a child's welfare had been committed.
