Emergency Responders Injured in I-87 Accident
State Police report a Greenburgh paramedic and a tow truck driver were injured at the scene of a previous accident last night.

A paramedic and a tow truck driver were injured on the Thruway last night, report State Police.
Trooper Glen Williams of the Tarrytown State Police barracks reports that emergency crews were at the scene of a minor accident when they were involved in a secondary accident at 8:51 p.m. near the interchange of I-87 and 287 in Tarrytown.
Greenburgh EMS had been on the scene of the minor accident, along with a tow truck. A driver travelling in the right lane going northbound on I-87 allegedly struck the rear of the ambulance, said Williams, pushing the ambulance into the driver of the tow truck, who was outside of his vehicle.

"Injuries don't appear to be anything serious," said Williams. The tow truck driver sustained a leg injury while the paramedic driving the ambulance had a shoulder injury. Both were brought to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.
The driver who hit the ambulance, a man from Middletown, NY, was charged with failure to move left for an emergency vehicle.
