Bedford: 'Beyond the Bed' Quilt Exhibition

Where: Katonah Museum of Art, Katonah

Description: The exhibit  traces the dynamic evolution of the North American quilt – in form, fashion, and function – from the beginning of the 19th century to the present day. Over thirty quilt masterpieces are installed according to their originally intended function as bed coverings, articles of clothing, furniture accessories, wall decoration, and three-dimensional sculpture.

Chappaqua: Easter Egg Hunts

Where: Chappaqua Crossing (by intersection of Roaring Brook Road and Route 117) and the First Congregational Church of Chappaqua

When: Sunday, March 31, 1 p.m. for Chappaqua Crossing hunt and 11:30 a.m. for the hunt at the church.

Cost: Free

Description: The Chappaqua Fire Department is putting on the egg hunt at Chappaqua Crossing (the former Reader's Digest campus), while the other hunt is being held at the church.

Ossining: Animal Adventures: Frog Frolic

Where: Teatown Lake Reservation, 1600 Spring Valley Road

When: 1 p.m. March 30

Cost: Free for members; $5pp for nonmembers

Description: Meet a few of Teatown’s ambassador animals in this program featuring frogs. Please note this program is for families with children ages 4 and over. Programs fill quickly so registration is strongly recommended. Call 914-762-2912 x110 to reserve.

Peekskill: Celebrating Women in Jazz with SAGE!

Where: The BeanRunner Cafe

Description: SAGE, the all-women jazz, blues and contemporary ensemble, has a sound that transcends time and generation. Part contemporary, part sassy, part nostalgic, these ladies deliver what every music audience is looking for, the best in the art. SAGE features Bernice Brooks on drums, Kersten Stevens on violin, Miriam Sullivan on bass, Ragan Whiteside on flute & vocals and Miki Hayama on piano. The group has appeared with Ray Charles, Denzel Washington, Regina Carter, the Duke Ellington Show Choir and many others. SAGE also headlined at the 2009 Inaugural Ball. 

Pleasantville: Mommy & Me World Music Class

Southeast: Read with a Furry Friend

Where: Brewster Public Library

When: Saturday morning (appointments required)

Cost: Free

Description: A 15-minute reading session with one of the canines from the Good Dog Foundation, a non-profit specializing in different forms of animal-assisted therapy, is sure to boost your youngster's confidence. The program is available for kids ages 6 to 12. Appointments are required, so call 845-279-6421 for more information.

Yorktown: Laughs for Wildlife

Where:  Sinapi's Ceola Manor, 489 E Main St, Jefferson Valley

When: Saturday, March 30, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

Cost: $60

Description: An evening full of comedy and dinner that will benefit wildlife rehabilitation. The night will include a 4-course sit down dinner with your choice of entrée. Great entertainment will be provided from three NYC top notch comedians to benefit a non-profit organization.
