At no time can four or more leaf blowers on any size parcel be used simultaneously.
Supervisor Paul Feiner said that the simultaneous use of the devices was what caused complaints from residents.

“Among complaints we received in the past was from residents complaining that landscapers were simultaneously using more than one leaf blower on properties in residential neighborhoods,” he said, “making it difficult for people to work at home or relax.”
The new law says that powered lawn mowers, leaf blowers or other powered lawn or garden equipment or construction tools are prohibited between the hours of 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. any weekday; before 9 a.m. or after 6 p.m. Saturday or any holiday or before 11 a.m. or after 6 p.m. Sunday.
Operation of a powered lawn mower, leaf blower or other powered lawn or garden equipment or construction tool may not exceed 75 dBA at any time.
Feiner said that, in the coming weeks, the town will begin an education campaign and will work with the police department on enforcement measures.
“We hope the new law will enable residents to enjoy a better quality of life,” he said.
