The good news is that patrons of the Greenburgh Public Library may not be shivering through the winter, though the bad news is, this might mean next winter.

Town Supervisor Paul Feiner announced that the board had approved OLA Consulting Engineers to design a supplemental boiler system at a cost not to exceed $23,100.
“We want the library to be open during announced hours and want to minimize the possibility of heating problems,” Feiner said. “Some residents complained about the lack of comfort in the building during the cold winter months.”

Last winter, issues with the heating system and a broken pipe left the children’s area closed for a week. However, the entire library itself was never closed, Sexton said, with selected kids’ books made available in the library.
