At the Eastern States Championships, hosted on May 27th by Iona Prep, the Hackley School track and field boys team were one of 24 teams in action. The Lady Panthers were one of 15 to compete in the event. Â
In the boys events, Mustafaa Dais of Hackley captured the boys Triple Jump, with a  distance of 44-09. He also prevailed in the 100 Meter Dash, clocking at 11:20.
Teammate Elijam Nbokoli finished 4th in the dash, with a time of 11.77. Teammate Darius Inser was 2nd in the 400 Hurdles in 51:93, behind winner Javon Fenton of Mt. St. Michael's time of 50.58.
In the Boys 2000 Steeplechase, Tristan Jung of the Panthers was 5th, in 6:58,88, with winner Michael Miano of Fordham Prep first to finish, in 6:15.51. Dais was 2nd in the Long Jump, going 20-08.75, behind Phil Blanda of St. Joseph's By The Sea, whose distance was 21-03.50.Â
For the girls, Alysa Nbokoli won the 100 Meter Hurdles, with her time of 1:05.95. Hackley teammate Julia Stevenson was 2nd, in 7:47.46, and another Panther, Greer Levin, was 3rd at 7:59.33.
