Half Marathon Tours Sleepy Hollow
Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown runners placed high in Saturday's frigid half-marathon.

Here's video of the start of the race on Beekman Avenue, with everyone, including that man carrying a box.
The overall winner of Saturday's half marathon was Fikadu Lemma, 29, from the Bronx with a time of 1:12:00.
The first woman to finish was Kate Pallardy, coming in 12th overall. The 27-year-old from NYC had a time of 1:22:12.

First of our many hometown runners represented were:
- Arnold Rufino, of Sleepy Hollow, 27, coming in 19th with a time of 1:26:42
- and Joe Kearns, of Tarrytown, 35, coming in at 31st, with a time of 1:31:43.
Congrats to all 884 participants from the region who finished this challenging race.

"This has to be the hardest half marathon ever," wrote David Raguso on Facebook.
Tarrytown's Karen Kuhn shared her finish photo on Facebook as proof that she completed this feat. The former roller derby competitor said, "That was rough! And I had to use some jammer skills to get through packs on the trails."
