Man Found Asleep in Building Moves Next Door

On two subsequent days, Sleepy Hollow police received complaints of a man sleeping in different apartment hallways on Cortlandt Street.

On Feb. 9 at 10:30 p.m., a Cortlandt Street caller complained of an unknown man sleeping in the hallway of the apartment building.

Police reported that the man said he missed his bus to Spring Valley and would be waiting for the next bus at the bus stop. The owner of the building was on the scene.

The next day at 7:23 p.m., there was a man reported to be sleeping in the hallway of the apartment building just next door to the first address on Cortlandt Street.

This time, police attempted to make contact with the man’s relative to make sleeping arrangements.

At 7:35 p.m., the man was transported to police headquarters to be taken from there to Phelps Memorial Hospital by ambulance for his level of alleged intoxication. 

Police Chief Gregory Camp confirmed that both incidents involved the same man.
