Moved: Nu Toy Store Opens New Space On Main

It's triple the square footage but owner Angel Rafter seems to have had no trouble filling the grand space at 16 Main with everything a child could conjure up.

The front area - once a bike showroom - now features seasonal goods and a six-foot rotating Ferris wheel (by Oscar Pak) in the window.

Mini hot air balloons and big kites hang from the high ceilings and there's plenty to amuse kids while parents shop for vintage and new toys, crafts, games and books.

Tarrytown's toy store reopened Friday but will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday and Sunday June 8 and 9 with activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., including face painting and a reading from Tarrytown children's author Nick Bruel.

Meanwhile the old digs at 36.5 Main have a new tenant coming soon, Nine Streets New York, with furnishings, textiles and vintage goods. More on this to come.

Congrats Nu Toy!
