He pulled out a black semi-automatic 9mm handgun and shot at one of the residents, missing him, police said.

Bigelow then shot himself in the leg during a struggle, according to authorities.

He was taken to Westchester Medical Center in stable condition and is expected to survive, police said.

Bigelow was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a firearm, a felony.

Police said that, before officers arrived at the address, a vehicle with three or four men fled from the scene.
