Ossining's Sanchez Set To Be Appointed Tarrytown Superintendent
The Tarrytown Board of Education said it will finalize the appointment at a meeting May 30.

TARRYTOWN, NY — The Public Schools of the Tarrytowns will be getting a new superintendent.
Dr. Raymond Sanchez, who is currently serving as Ossining’s superintendent, is set to be appointed by the Tarrytown Board of Education May 30.
He will succeed Superintendent Chris Borsari, who announced his retirement in November and will complete his term June 30.

Sanchez has served the Ossining school district in a variety of roles over the past two decades, having been superintendent since 2013.
“Without question, Dr. Sanchez is an accomplished and charismatic leader,” said Board President John Paine. “In addition to learning about his broad base of experience, our Board was able to hear how he envisions working with our team to reach our goals and optimize our performance.”

Sanchez said he was eager to work alongside the administration, faculty and staff at Tarrytown.
“I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career, especially in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion and improving outcomes for all students,” he said.
Sanchez, who grew up in Tarrytown, received his bachelor of science degree from SUNY Geneseo. He earned a master’s degree from Long Island University and a doctorate in educational leadership from Manhattanville College, along with a certificate of advanced study in education administration from Columbia University.
