Paws Crossed Received $5,000 Grant From Petco Love

The shelter said the grant will be significant and lifesaving for orphaned pets.

ELMSFORD, NY — Paws Crossed Animal Rescue received a grant from Petco Love, a nonprofit committed to animal welfare.

The Elmsford-based shelter received a $5,000 grant investment from the nonprofit, according to a Paws Crossed spokesperson.

Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love, said the investment in Paws Crossed is part of more than $15 million in investments to power local organizations across the country as part of a commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized.

“Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us,” she said. “We recently launched Petco Love Lost, a national lost and found database that uses pet image technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”

Jennifer Angelucci, president and CEO of Paws Crossed, said her organization was grateful to the people of Petco Love.

“The impact of this incredible gift will be significant and lifesaving for both orphaned pets and the people and our community that love them,” she said.

“Petco Love is helping us to ‘Make Our House Their Home Until They Find Their Very Own,’ ” Angelucci said.

Paws Crossed Animal Rescue, located at 100 Warehouse Lane South in Elmsford, is a nonprofit organization serving New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and beyond. Since 2015, the organization has rescued more than 5,300 orphaned pets and has created more than 5,200 forever families. This year, Paws Crossed will open its new Adoption Center, which will include four cats rooms, three meet-and-greet rooms, a pet supply store, a community room, a one-bedroom living space and a clinic.
