Police Arrest Alleged Tarrytown Burglar

Tarrytown police make an arrest of a man allegedly caught robbing a room in the Tarrytown House Estate and Conference Center.

Security from the Tarrytown House Estate and Conference Center reported a burglary in progress at the facility’s King House. 
The call came to Tarrytown Police from the estate’s “night auditor” at 5:01 a.m. on May 3. Police responded immediately and set up a perimeter as they awaited information about the suspect’s exact location. 

They were transferred to the hotel’s manager who was receiving a live photo feed from the security system. The manager was able to provide a description and location to the officer’s on the scene. 

The suspect was described as a short bald white man located in one particular room. Officers secured the only exit as other officers got the suspect in the room.   
 
Saman Shojai, 32, was transported to headquarters and charged with:   

  • Attempted burglary in the second degree 
  • Two counts of burglary in the second degree (for a dwelling)
Police could not yet be reached for further information.
