Police: Tarrytown Employee is Coin Thief
Jose Casiano, a longtime Tarrytown DPW employee, was subbing for the regular meter collector when he was charged with petty larceny.

A Tarrytown DPW employee was arrested Thursday on charges of stealing coins from broken parking meters, Tarrytown police reported.
The arrest followed an investigation since late December, when police said they received an anonymous tip.

Police said they then saw Casiano carrying a plastic bag full of coins into his home. He then admitted he had stolen the coins that day and one time before, Tarrytown Lt. William Herguth told LoHud.com.
Village Administrator Mike Blau told LoHud.com that Casiano had been employed by the village since 2001, and had been filling in for the regular meter collector.
“It was determined he took that money instead of turning it into the village coffers,” Herguth said.
