Police: Contractor Pockets Deposit

Tarrytown police are investigating a grand larceny case of a woman who wrote a $4,000 check for a boiler down payment that never got installed.

A Loh Avenue resident reported to Tarrytown Police that she hadn't heard from her contractor since sending a large down payment check.

A resident came to police headquarters on March 14 to report that in August, 2012, his wife had written a check for $4,000 toward a new gas boiler installation for their home. The couple had been unable to contact the contractor since.

Police filed a grand larceny case which is under investigation with the detective division.
