A Bridgeport, CT man was charged with driving while intoxicated after hitting a police car in the village, Sleepy Hollow police said.
On September 1 at 10:13 p.m., police reported a car with CT plates hit a police cruiser at Cedar Street near Cortlandt Street. Police Chief Gregory Camp reported that the officers were outside of the car on a service call when they saw the car strike their vehicle and drive away.
The driver then continued to drive off turning south on Valley Street toward Wildey Street in Tarrytown.
Police alerted Tarrytown police and stopped the car at Valley and Wildey Street with Tarrytown assistance. Tarrytown police reported that they stuck around until the scene was clear as there was "a large unruly group on the scene."
Officers arrested the 36-year-old man and his car was towed.
Police report minor damage to both the police car and the man's car.
Note: An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
