Police arrested a local man two days in a row for crimes against Tarrytown stores and one employee.
On July 25 at 11:30 p.m., a CVS employee called police to say there had a shoplifter still there at the Bridge Plaza store.
Police reported taking one Tarrytown man into custody with another, from Sleepy Hollow, who was banned was the premises.
At 1:05 a.m. police released the man with a return court date.
The Tarrytown man, aged 19, was charged with:
- with petty larceny and
- criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree.

The next day, a 911 caller reported to police at 1:20 p.m. that an employee of the Tarrytown Centre location of Dunkin' Donuts had been struck by a customer.
Officers at the scene report the suspect became combative with an employee and struck several times during a verbal dispute. The victim filed a statement and police are reviewing the video of the incident from the store's surveillance.
At 2:35 p.m. police located the suspect on Beekman Avenue by Clinton Street.
The Tarrytown man who arrested for the CVS larceny was again arrested and taken to headquarters on B misdemeanor charges of:
- menacing in the third degree,
- criminal trespass in the third degree,
- and attempted assault in the third degree.
Lt. Herguth said he did not want to pay full price for a drink.
