Police Investigate Case of Glued Mailbox
A resident found their mailbox lock gummed up with a mysterious substance.
A Martling Avenue resident reported to police that their mailbox seemed to have been glued shut.
A resident came to Tarrytown Police headquarters on Mach 16 to report that someone within the last day had done damage to her mailbox by placing a glue-type substance in the lock.
Police went to the scene with the resident to check out the box. Lt. William Herguth described it as sitting among a pedestal block of 16 mailboxes. “There appeared to be something in the lock,” he said, though “officers couldn’t tell what.”
