A caller told police at 1:26 a.m. that a suspicious man was sitting in the roadway at North Broadway and Farrington Avenue.
Police found the man and took him to headquarters for further interviewing. He was reportedly intoxicated and trying to walk home to Ossining after a party at a friend's place in the Van Tassel apartments. The man's girlfriend was contacted and drove him home.
Then at 4:11 a.m. that morning, a caller reported that a woman was walking in the roadway of New Broadway in the village. The woman described her as 40- to 50-years-old and wearing all black with brown curly hair.
Police found the woman and discovered she was homeless and was trying to walk to Danbury, CT. They checked with Phelps Memorial Hospital who had no missing patients. The woman had no warrants out and wasn't listed as a missing person in either CT or NY.
Police brought her to the bus stop in front of the main entrance to Phelps where she could safely wait for the bus.
