Police: Wind Tosses Dumpster, Truck Cap

Tarrytown police received several complaints of heavy flying objects, tossed in the high winds of Feb. 27.

Several cars in Tarrytown suffered damages from high winds that ripped through the villages on Feb. 27.

New York vs. Texas

On Feb. 27 at 8:18 a.m. a caller from EF-Education First security reported that a section of a parked truck had blown off and struck another parked vehicle. An officer reported that the truck bed cap blew off a car with NY plates, hitting the trunk of a car with Texas plates. Both vehicles were parked and the incident was noted for the record.

Car vs. Dumpster

At 9:17 a.m., a caller on White Plains Road reported that a dumpster had smashed into her parked car. Officers confirmed damage to the passenger side of the car. Building maintenance removed the dumpster from the car and secured it in its rightful place. Police advised the car's owner of her options and would follow up with management company.
