Police: Woman Victim of Money Wiring Scam
A Sleepy Hollow resident sent $500 allegedly for her daughter's medical bills to the Dominican Republic.

A Clinton Street resident came to Sleepy Hollow police headquarters on April 30 to report that she had been the victim of possible money wiring fraud.
She had been contacted by someone claiming to be from the Dominican Consulate regarding her daughter’s medical bill in the Dominican Republic.
She was told she would have to send $500 via Western Union. The woman sent $500 and when trying to verify payment the phone number had been disconnected.
