Pharmacist Kamran Khan just considers himself lucky that the burglary of his Sleepy Hollow Pharmacy happened after hours and "no one got hurt."
Someone informed Sleepy Hollow Police on May 29 at 10 a.m. that a window had been broken at the small independently operated drug store on 95 Beekman Avenue.
Officers on the scene requested a detective come when they confirmed that there was a broken window and it looked like someone had made entry this way. They apparently broke the window on the door and were able to unlock the dead bolt.
Officers said prescription medicine had then been taken. Police filed and are investigating a burglary case.
Khan today told Patch that police had some leads. Never in his 10 years in business here had he had a break-in, he said. "They could have taken so many things," he said, adding that they focused instead on meds like OxyContin with a high "street value."
Khan said he was grateful that there no "hold up, no gun."
