Reward Offered For Information About Hit-And-Run In Greenburgh

A dark-colored sedan struck a motorcycle, causing its operator to be ejected.

GREENBURGH, NY — A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whomever is responsible for a hit-and-run that happened June 4.

New York State Crime Stoppers is offering up to $2,500 for information into the crash that left a motorcyclist seriously injured while parked on the shoulder of southbound Interstate 87, at mile marker 10.7, in the town of Greenburgh.

Police said the vehicle that fled from the scene was descried as a dark sedan.

Authorities said the crash happened around 9:40 p.m. June 4. The operator of the motorcycle was stopped on the right shoulder of the Exit 7A off-ramp when the dark-colored sedan struck the motorcycle, causing the operator to be ejected and land in the roadway.

Two drivers passing by stopped to pull the motorcyclist to safety and rendered first aid. The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries to his leg, police said.

Any information about the crash, however insignificant it may seem, could help, authorities said.
