'She Is Considered An Angel': Nurse Is Greenburgh Hero

GREENBURGH, NY — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?

Jessica was destined to become a nurse from the day she was born. She would always role-play being a nurse or doctor and tenderly care for her dolls and stuffed animals. She followed her God-given passion and renders countless hours above and beyond her shifts to make sure that her patients and family members receive the utmost attention and care. She is considered an “Angel” in a nurses uniform by her patients. Many evenings she comes home later than scheduled because she would stay to hold the hand of a dying patient or offer support to their family member, offering compassionate care and a human connection. She respects the dignity and moral wholeness of every person. She truly loves her work and understands the true rewards of being a nurse are the precious moments shared one on one that you carry with you for a lifetime. The moments that touch at your heart strings because you know you have impacted someone’s life! Jessica deserves to be recognized or honored for her unending love, compassion, and tireless dedication to her patients and profession. In the midst of this pandemic she has been a true leader in displaying a calm, organized and fearless approach offering the highest level of skill and service for her patient, staff and institution. God has truly chosen her to do His work. As a very proud Mom I could go on for hours recognizing all her professional accomplishments. She is a true healthcare hero who wears her invisible cape every day, smiling and staying positive! She is authentic and has the utmost integrity. Thank you for your consideration.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?

She has a “caring" attitude which underscores everything that she does. Caring is the heart of this profession.
