Sleepy Hollow Police: Man Hit While Buying Beer, Family Feuds, Ambulance Accident

Family, Clothing Troubles  

On May 11 a man walked into Sleepy Hollow police headquarters to complain that his grandfather was harassing him. Police took a statement from him for the record.

Later the same day, someone came in to tell police that he was having a problem with his brother. He said the brother had been threatening him and took all his clothing. Police took a statement and went to the home to find the brother in an attempt to resolve the matter and find the missing clothing. At that time, the brother was not home.    

The evening of May 16, an Elm Street woman came to headquarters to report that her ex-boyfriend had thrown her sneakers up onto the power line.  

Trying to Buy Beer, Man Hit in Face  

Tarrytown Police called Sleepy Hollow police to inform them that a man on Cortlandt Street had called them saying he was in fear of being hit. On May 12 at 9 p.m., officers went to the scene but found no one.

Just before 10 p.m. that night, Tarrytown police called back and said the man was now at home. Officers went to interview complainant, who said that while trying to buy a beer at the store at 111 Cortlandt Street, an unknown man punched him in the face several times for no apparent reason.

Police had to leave to go respond to a domestic dispute in progress and when they returned said that the man, who lived on North Washington Street, did not answer his door. 

Hudson/Division Accident

A car spanned two villages as it began in Tarrytown and crossed the line just into Sleepy Hollow.

On May 15 just after 3 p.m. police reported that a car on Division Street had struck a stop sign which then hit another car. The driver that struck the sign then in turn backed up and struck another car on Hudson Street. Tarrytown police completed the accident report.  

Ambulance Accident  

A caller reported to Sleepy Hollow police on May 16 at 4:37 p.m. that a Croton ambulance with a patient onboard was involved in a car accident on North Broadway in Sleepy Hollow.

Officers and ambulance were dispatched but reported no injuries. Sleepy Hollow Ambulance Corps took the patient to Phelps Memorial Hospital.
