At the States Track and Field qualifier held at White Plains High School on May 30-31, Gabriella Maldonado, fleet footed senior for the Sleepy Hollow Horsemen's team, qualified in two events that will enable her to compete on June 5th and 6th at the New York State Track and Field Championships at Orange County's Middletown High School.
The Albany-bound athlete won the girls 400 Meter dash, with a clocking of 56.52, out legging seven other runners. Then she placed 3rd in the girls 100 Meter Dash, with a time of 3:12.48, and was closely behind two New Rochelle runners in the event.
