Does Virgin Share Corner with Drug Dealers?
Despite proximity to a site held sacred in Sleepy Hollow, a neighbor reports to police alleged drug deals on Cortlandt Street.
A caller reported to Sleepy Hollow that possible drug transactions were taking place on the corner of Cortlandt near the tree whose knot is thought to resemble the Virgin of Guadulupe.
The tree remains highly decorated and cared for by visitors and neighbors after the initial discovery of the knot's holy resemblance last summer.
Police sent three units to the scene on April 26 at 3:20 p.m. and reported finding two people standing on corner but no criminal activity observed.
