So far, says Chef Eric Korn of Irvington's Good Life Gourmet - as of pre-competition last week - it's a toss up.
Local Rivertown chefs have been pairing up in friendly food fights at the Hudson Harbor lodge "pop up" restaurant of Korn's invention.Â
On this night, it was Village Dog vs. Peekskill Brewery, and the three-course small-bites menu included: grilled calamari, asparagus salad, braised beef cheeks, seared duck breast, cheese cake and chocolate tart. Winner: Village Dog!
Korn says he's happy to report the place has been busy every night with "lots of really happy guests who eat and immediately get up to make reservations for another night."
The finals, pairing Village Dog's Carl Van Dekker with Korn, will be Wednesday and Thursday. You can still make reservations by calling 914.747.0519. There's also a (free!) fun cocktail celebration to mark Thursday's finale from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
