Marilynn Macdonald Passes Away at 87

Marilynn Macdonald passed away peacefully on August 4, 2011, at the age of 87.

Lynn was born on January 10, 1924, in Jamaica, Queens, New York. She married Bruce D. Macdonald in 1944 and they built a home in Setauket, Long Island, New York, where they raised three children together.

After her husband's passing, Lynn moved to Flat Rock, North Carolina, where for many years she enjoyed her children and grandchildren's visits, her friends, traveling, tennis, golf, dancing, playing bridge, and fine dining. She shared many happy memories during this time with her companion William Freitag. In 2009, she retired to Newhall, California, to be near her daughter.

Lynn is survived by her son, Bruce D Macdonald of Wake Forest, North Carolina, her son Craig Gifford Macdonald of Fairborn, Ohio, and Bonnie Lynn Shepard, of Valencia, California. Lynn is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Linda and Ruth, son-in-law, Douglas Shepard, grandchildren, Alicia Macdonald Khamis, Mindy Macdonald, Kyle Mellevold, and Bruce Shepard, grandson-in-law Hafidh, granddaughter-in-law Qiulan, and great-grandson Malik.
