STONY BROOK, NY — Burgerology and My Cookie Dealer are set to host their Autism Awareness Fundraiser at Burgerology's Stony Brook location from noon to 8 p.m. April 2, the burger restaurant announced.

Proceeds will benefit Rise Life Services, a Riverhead nonprofit dedicated to providing residential homes for those living with developmental, intellectual and mental health disabilities.

"At Burgerology, supporting autism awareness is a cause close to our hearts," Maria Milito, owner of Burgerology, told Patch. "Our Burgerology family has been personally affected by autism, and we’ve seen firsthand the challenges and triumphs that come with it. By raising money, we hope to provide support, resources, and awareness to help individuals on the spectrum and their families. Together, we can make a difference and create a more inclusive world for everyone."
