Centereach Resident Honored By Networking Organization

A curious mind, outstanding work ethic and networking prowess all contributed to the selection of Senior LeeAnn Williams as a winner of the 2021 Purple Pump Award. Presented by the Moxxie Mentoring Foundation, Inc., the Purple Pump Award is given to mentors and mentees who excel through the organization’s professional and personal development programs.

A Business Administration major and student in the SUNY Old Westbury Honors College, Williams is taking part during the 2020-2021 academic year in the Jr. Moxxie Program, where select students are mentored by and network with senior-level business women from various industries.

“Through this program I have been able to work one on one with someone who is working in corporate retail as part of the supply chain,” wrote Williams in her application to Moxxie. The Centereach, New York native and Centereach High School graduate who intends to pursue a career as an analyst in corporate retail.

Williams was one of three students and five professional honorees who were feted at Moxxies’ 2021 Emerald Summit.

The Jr. Moxxie Program is one of the various mentoring programs provided by the Moxxie Mentoring Foundation, a nonprofit corporation established in 2012 to expand the mentoring program activities formerly performed under the auspices of Moxxie Network LLC. Since 2010, Moxxie has mentored nearly 500 women. The Foundation’s activities include: Program Development & Execution, Mentor & Mentee Recruitment, Mentor Training and Mentee Orientation.
