Crime Report: Local Man Charged in Medford Burglary

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

An East Setauket man is charged with first-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny, both felonies, after police say he burglarized a home and stole a credit card. Edward Hines III, 32, allegedly entered a home on Birchwood Road in Medford with a set of stolen keys and stole a credit card that he used to make cash withdrawals at two ATMs. He was arrested May 16 for the May 13 incident, was released after posting $1,000 bail, and is due back in court on June 6.

Robert Larson, 23, of Poquott, was arrested May 17 in Poquott and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said he was driving 51 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone, and failed to stay in his lane, on westbound Route 25A at 1:39 a.m. on May 17. 

Jeffrey Swezey, 41, of Medford, was arrested May 11 in South Setauket and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Police said he was seen smoking crack cocaine in the parking lot of Holiday Inn Express on Route 347.

Harry Bixler, 25, of Setauket, was arrested May 14 in Mt. Sinai and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Police said he was seen purchasing and possessing heroin in front of a residence on Salisbury Run in Mt. Sinai.
